I was planning to do full suspension hanging ,bought ropes, scouted trees in my area but I began to wonder if it's a viable method for someone who is overweight/obese. I'm a guy about 178cm tall and I weigh about 110kg.

What do you think, will hanging work for me provided that the rope is strong enough?

not just the rope but the tree matter; people have woken up after a branch snapped on them.
you don't want brain damage - please be careful

Yeah I know that's why I scouted for safe anchor points and despite the fact that I live near forests there are almost no suitable branches it's ridiculous lol.

What I'm worried about is that if I'm overweight/obese and have a fat neck will the rope be able to penetrate to arteries and make me pass out.

Maybe if your neck is thick, you can do some tests first..

Touch with your fingers on both sides of your neck, can you feel a strong pulse well?

📌 'How to locate the carotid arteries?'

You can tie the ligature and place it on your neck (like a necklace) in its correct position: under your jaw and with the knot behind your neck in the center. And pull the free end with your hands to apply pressure. You can use the Arbor Knot for this, as it slides and tightens itself. When you apply pressure, you should feel your vision begin to darken and a general feeling of lightness.

I can feel pulse in some places but it's not very strong. Also I have 12mm and 14mm polypropylene ropes but don't know which one would be better?

I'm quite conflicted, I don't know if hanging will work for me but I'm desperate as I don't have any other methods available besides SN which I don't really trust.

Honestly, I don't see any problem with it not working. In full suspension, all your weight will exert pressure and will block the carotid arteries. The rope will penetrate your neck thanks to gravity, your entire body weight suspended and the ligature knot tightening itself (arbor knot or also known as noose knot with stopper knot)
You can also feel your pulse, so your arteries are not difficult to access.

📌 Brief summary of some points in the Hanging method.

It's always important to test your anchor point and rope to ensure they're strong and can support your weight.

If your anchor point will be trees, you can read this thread to choose the right one:

📌 Thread 'Trees to use for hanging - from a tree expert'

Both ropes are fine. You can test them both, as I mentioned in the previous post, and see which one is better for you.

Don't make any hasty attempts.
