What does a hanging corpse look like? Will my face be blue? My eyes red? Will it traumatize whoever finds me forever?
I want to leave a sign on the door saying that I'm dead, not to look, and to call 911, but I know that won't work. It wouldn't work for me, at least. The panic and desperation would be too great. There's no way anyone would be like "oh—okay. I guess I'll sit back and wait for 911."
I could go off someplace to do it, but would that be worse for them since they may never find my body?
I know that there's hanging pictures and videos online and stuff, but I'm too much of a baby to look at those 😓. Anyway, thanks if you read all of this.

To be honest, the scene will be shocking for the person who finds you.

The most considerate thing you can do for them is to cover your face with something and not leave too much skin visible.

In my opinion, one of the ugliest things about a hanged corpse is when the tongue protrudes; in some cases, depending on how much time has passed, it can turn dark and there may be traces of saliva.

Another phenomenon in the skin is cadaveric lividity (livor mortis, accumulation of blood), reddish/purple areas appear on the lowest dependent parts of the body (they will appear on the legs, feet, hands and arms)

If they could find you in a few hours it would be better; the longer it takes, the worse the body will look.

It depends how the ligature kills the person. I'll explain:
Depends if the death were by oclusion of the airway, or the cut of the bloodflow to the brain (causing brain death, then general organ failure).
And that fact will come with the series of factors... how the ligature is pressing the carotid artery, the vein or both; if it was full suspension or partial; the position of the knot of the ligature, how thick or thin is the ligature material, etc.
And about the pics, you took a wise decision. I was an avid, binge consumer of gore material at internet forums and saw a lot of hanged corpses. The worst ones were when the body were discovered several days ago and the image of the body is absolutely gross.

theres a lot of variation depending on position and small details, + how long it's been since you passed

don't think anyone can predict it for you tbh, not even if you yourself looked at photos of it. some people look the complete same, just with their eyes closed, and others look really gross.

i mean at least its a lot less jarring than a gruesome method

Doesn't matter what u do. Corpse is very traumazting. There is absolutely nothing u can do to make it look less truamazting.

Corpses are always going to be frightening to look at. Whether it actually traumatizes someone varies from person to person, but I doubt a law enforcement officer or medical personnel would be traumatized by the sight of one. They're mostly desensitized to this kind of thing, and it's generally expected as part of the job.

A corpse is a corpse and will look like a corpse, but if you do full suspension hanging, you won't have a blue face and bulging eyes.

In full suspension, there's enough pressure to suddenly and fully block the carotid arteries, so your face won't swell up. With full suspension, the face of the victim is pale in almost every case. With partial suspension, there may be swelling or petechiae. This also depends on what position is used. Some body positions provide more pressure on the neck (on the carotid arteries) than others.

Other than that, what JesiBel said... Protruding tongue, saliva, etc. – this is how hanging usually looks. You can cover your face if you don't want people to see it.
