I find it so cruel and dreadful how there isn't the option to fall into an dreamless and eternal sleep, to me it'd be such a relief if we could just have the option to fall asleep eternally, it's horrible how it's so difficult to die.
i have this thought every morning when i wake up :/

I have tried death meditations. Supposedly yogis have died like that, by will. Obviously, hasn't worked yet.

Unless someone commits suicide it seems the universe only takes those that don't want to die

I hear ya. I go to sleep every night hoping for this, and wake up disappointed. Totally agree it only comes for those who dont want it. Cruel cruel punishment ..
To be honest, loads of people have died by chance, it's just comparitively rare...
Some of the highlights (not for those involved of course- they likely didn't want to die. RIP unfortunate souls)
- 450 people per year die falling out of bed.
- Approximately 150 people die from coconuts falling from trees.
- 24 people per year are killed by champagne corks.
Sorry but I need to reply with a special mention to how funny that is. Yes I know we're supposed to be all serious on here but you struck a good note of humour however unintended
I'm afraid I do have a very dark sense of humour... Not welcomed by all I realise. I think we've all been brought up to deal with things differently. My Dad has a morbid, wicked sense of humour too. It's how we've gotten through things sometimes. His is worse than mine I'd say! But yes- tragic of course but sometimes you do think- seriously?
Yes I am with you. Most nights I hope. I do get chest pains, quite significant, but think they are the release of anxiety.
Last year I had a massive panic attack that I thought could be a heart attack - enough to call for an emergency and go to hospital to get it checked out.
I had mixed feelings - at the time I panicked and hoped it would be a turning point in me making me want to choose life determinedly. A bit of me hoped to go. Now I wish it had been me going.
