Hi, i'm new here. I'm planning to go tomorrow with full suspension hanging. I'm doing it in the shower, my anchor point is a metal bar that goes into the brick wall and should hold my 44 kilos. my "rope" is a long shawl rolled until it resembles a rope, tried giving it my full weight and it held. The anchor point is so high up I need a stool which I'll kick away after I'm set. I'll be playing music and locked inside the bathroom with the shower going as I usually do. I might grab some antipsychotics I have lying around and get myself sedated beforehand. I'm just scared of those few seconds before it gets dark, as in I'm skeptical regarding the timeline. How long until you faint? How long until you die? Will I make much noise? I'm willing to bet it all on the locked door buying me enough time (parents will have to figure out something is wrong and then call fire department to cave the door in) and on that 80% success rate statistic I've seen around.
Thanks in advance everyone.

I am sorry, but I don't think it is safe to do it while your parents are next door. If they find you after 5 minutes and they rescue you, you'll have severe brain injuries from the attempt. Even after 10 minutes you could theoretically "be saved" and turn into a vegetable.

True, then I'll wait for them to be away for at least 1-2 hours. Even if it takes over 10 minutes, that should be enough. I'm still devastated at the thought of them finding me, but I suppose it's better than jumping.

Make sure your anchor point can support 2-3x your body weight. You'll be struggling as you pass out and after you pass out. Make sure also that your shawl can support that same weight.

Thanks! Sounds tricky to check but I'll make sure to tug as if struggling.

Haven't done it. The plan is still there and I have all I need, but I don't want to hurt my mom.

Please do not attempt while others are home you should give urself an absolute minimum of 30 minutes being alone. The convulsion phase will wake them up and you will be saved. Rope is cheap i would highly recommend getting some
Strong materials: polyester or polypropylene.

• Rope type: static and braided. It shouldn't be elastic, as it will stretch under weight.

• Thickness: It will depend on each person's taste, between 10 and 14 mm is fine and comfortable.

15 seconds to unconsciousness if done right hopefully max 20 seconds of extreme pain. 30 minutes alone minimum. Few minutes until nearly dead

Brain dead at around 5 mins, fully dead around 15.

Convulsion phase occurs around minute 3 but doesnt always occur.

Hope this helps friend.

as cepheuss said brain death will take around 5 minutes
full body death can take 25 minutes, but that doesn't really matter once brain death has been achieved

the potential issue you will have with hanging is that from around 1 minute, brain cells start dying, so permanent brain damage starts around just one minute into it. if you are cut down between 1 and 5 minutes, you will almost certainly have permanent brain damage, with the damage becoming more and more severe the longer you hang - you do not want to run the risk of being found mid hang

I keep crying uncontrollably I don't want to hurt my mom and my little sister and my boyfriend but I want to be gone so badly.

Knowing it's only 15-20 seconds of pain reassures me so much. I'll wait and see how things go for just a little longer.

If i was you, i'd try to find a better place than your own house, that's definitely everything working against you, try to take a while and find a forest or something, plan it more, every time you try to do things by rushing it, the outcome isn't good. If you feel desperate, your environment might work against you, that's why you should make sure you're in the right mindset to ctb, even that takes meticulous planning, that's why you should try to leave your house and go for a walk, to see if that's what you're really ready to do, or if you're just in a moment of crisis. Best of luck, i wish you peace, regardless of your decision, but always be sure you can suffer the least to ctb peacefully.

Stay strong. Knowing how much you'll hurt them is stopping you because you love them very much, and they love you. Please reconsider this. If you're young, you have plenty of years left for things to get better. đź«‚đź’™

I live in the plains, no forest at all. My house is the safest option I have, I'm thankfully alone for half the day most days. This is something I'll do eventually, but for now I'm trying to wait a little longer. For context, I have a neurological injury from quitting a prescribed medication. If things don't improve, I see very little value in staying.

I'm freshly 27 but I have been suffering protracted withdrawal from medication for years now. I was almost done but I had a terrible setback lately, probably tolerance withdrawal. I was thrown into this hell at 19 for simple panic attacks, poly drugged and made to quit cold turkey after taking xanax as prescribed for 4.5 years. The withdrawal was atrocious. Now I'm in tolerance and experiencing the same symptoms. I may be "young" still but my life feels ruined.

Protracted withdrawal is hell I deeply understand that part, I'm really sorry you have to go through that, no one really deserves to go through any of this.
But there's still hope if you can able to live through another day. Some cases I've heard they can get better in 4-5 years some takes 6-7 years in protracted, that's a long and difficult path to say it won't be easy and it's difficult cause you need a support system.

I've plan to ctb if my withdrawal got worse too. I partially understand how you feel. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I don't want to hurt family but I couldn't bear to go through these deliberating times too.

I really hope you would find peace in any decision you would make and I hope your symptoms would ease
