I only have one friend and I don't want anymore. I mean real friends not acquaintances but people who know you and have your back 100%. The rest of my friends are dead, the last one drank himself to death 4-5 years ago. I like being alone and having friends would just make it harder to CTB when it's time.

I do have a few friends with whom I mostly share the fact we spent a lot of time together in the past.
At the moment we don't see or speak to each other regularly. But it's okay since they live very different lives than mine - more family oriented, have spouses etc.
So they wouldn't really understand when I opened up to them.
I guess I'm also alone in this.
So hugs to you, OP.

True friends are hard to come by, anyone can be a friend but they may not be a good friend. There are so many users and shallow, self absorbed people out there. It would be amazing to find a real friend, someone who is on the same wavelength and there's a genuine connection, unfortunately for me, that is something I am not destined to have...

I've pushed all friends away and my family as well. I'm pretty much alone the majority of the time and although I sometimes feel lonely, I don't want the stress of having to socialise: isolating is so much easier.
I don't think I have friends either.
I have two friends from my teenage years that still care for me and have been there in my darkest times but they are busy with their lives most of the time. I still cherish them greatly.
I seem to be an annoyance to most people. It's hard keeping friendships going when you wear a mask most of the time.
