I have the hardback edition of Final Exit, however, there is no chapter on how to use nitrogen. I must have an older edition or something. Anyway, I found a pdf online that has a chapter devoted to inert gasses. I believe it starts on page 130. Here is a link to the edition I found:

I'm trying to read as much as possible on this method before I attempt.

Just 2 pages. He was unto the car exhaust method only, not much detail. Maybe the charcoal method is not that known yet during that time.

Yeah; I think this book is pretty old. They use helium as the example in the inert gas chapter, and these days helium is useless as it's diluted with oxygen. (Although they do briefly mention nitrogen.)

Yeah, probably already behind. Still interesting though, to see ctb texts in oldschool looking print.

Thanks for posting the book link.

Some interesting points from the inert gas chapter, p.136:

If the person is worried about sucking the plastic bag into the nostrils and mouth, use a paper painter's mask, otherwise called a particle mask. lf the person wants the bag to be well away from the eyes, wear a baseball cap. These two articles are most useful if using the bag without gas; when gas is used, the inflation keeps the plastic off the face.

I won't be wearing a mask or hat. I'm just hoping the gas keeps it inflated enough to stay away from my nostrils and eyes. I think the hat and mask is a good idea if you're just going to use the bag without gas, though.

Sure. But without gas I don't know how it would work since inert gas prevents "air hunger" and a natural panic response.

There's a chapter in one of these euthanasia books - can't remember which one - that talks about using a bag without gas. The idea is to use lots of sedatives before putting the bag over your head.
