Fake politeness and empathy

Whenever people show me fake empathy or fake politeness, i am quick to notice it.
I'd feel less bad if people didn't lie and be honest with me. The worst part of it is, if they are showing you fake empathy you are supposed to take it and go along with it.
If someone lies to make me feel better, it feels worse than someone being honest.

Do you notice this pattern too?

I noticed this pattern too a lot more when i was more insecure before in the past

These days i dont think much about it, i believe what ppl say unless proven otherwise and feel much more secure and happier

Yeah I find it insanely annoying. Like they feel obligated to be nice and empathetic to me but dont rlly want to so its forced. like I'd perfer if theyd just fuck off. I hate people who lie and say I'm doing sooo well when I know i'm not. Its just annoying. Nowadays I just give them a short reply and move on as quickly as possible, so they know idgaf.
