Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

What do you think happens to your stuff if you have a failed attempt in a hotel?

Say you either panic and call for help or someone hears you and you are found. Would the police/ambulance take your stuff with you to the hospital or leave it there and if so will the hotel only hold onto it for a few days? If you get locked up in psych hospital for a couple weeks and can't get to the hotel are your belongings just going to be thrown out?

For me it wouldn't just be a small bag but a suitcase as I will be coming from out of town and need things for the days or weeks prior to CTB. Obviously I hope the attempt is successful and therefore this is an unnecessary worry but just in case.

Hmm I once attempted at a decent hotel, ended up in the hospital. However it was on my last day at the hotel so I figured they'd throw all my stuff out. The front desk had my phone number from check-in and called me about my belongings because I'd left quite a lot. Not sure how long they're going to keep someone's stuff (if at all), it probably varies from hotel to hotel. I don't think emergency responders and/or the police are going to take belongings for you unless you're able to say you need it - then it'd probably be locked up in the hospital (in case there's something you could harm yourself with).

If you have a vehicle with you, I suppose that you could put most of your things in the vehicle.

I self rescued as I was dying, it was very painful and I thought calling "the experts" would make the pain stop. I didn't realize how near death I was, if I knew, I never would have called.

Apparently, the police called my parents. Im assuming they ran my license plate, since the car I drove was registered to them. My parents drove to the hotel room to pick up the car, and the police handed over all of my belongings.

Idk if my parents were charged for all the damage to the room? I was too embarrassed to ask, and they didn't volunteer the info. The police had to ram the door down, the bathtub was full of blood (I overheard a policeman say he would never be able to erase the image of that tub from his head), and the bathroom itself was covered in the blood that sprayed as I cut my wrists and arms.
