Things you won't hear in the British news but should know. The EU price cap on gas is 43.99 Euros (£37) per megawatt hour. The UK is £263.79 per megawatt hour. But this is what the public voted for. If you voted for it, you were conned.

The inflated energy costs in the UK are ridiculous, I said it was a con as companies don't buy a barrel of oil daily these are futures and traded years in advance so the price hikes we are seeing now, them greedy bastards only paid something like $30's a barrel and all the energy companies are posting billions of pounds of profit.

Cheers

Wow, that sucks :( Are those the maximum prices paid by the consumer?

Idk how much gas that is (it's priced by volume - mcf here), but my electricity is way cheaper in the US, comes in around 15¢/kWh for 100% renewable and that rate is locked in til next year.

If the search results I found are correct, one MCF of natural gas is 301 kWh, and cost me $7.5/MCF last month, so I think that would be $25/megawatt hour (plus meter fees) or 25¢/kWh. It's market rate, changes monthly, I will look into getting a locked-in rate for the winter but sometimes that ends up costing more than just paying the market rate.

As an American, I would like to know how Brexit affected the price of oil. What your saying seems to indicate that Brexit has caused increase oil prices, right?

A cold, harsh, horrible, hungry and deadly winter is coming! - at least I hope so for my own sake.

Most supplies have increased between 5 to 20 % here in Sweden, and toilet paper has increased 40 %.

Now imagine the effects on eastern europe and balkans. Bigger or equal increases, nearing 20% inflation, wages 8 times smaller than western. Without factoring in corruption yet. And the reality of how it's impossible to eascape and at least die in one of those better countries because you are and always will be broke.

The poorer a country is, the more its working class hates and destroys itself while the rich run off with their money.
