Help does ligature strangulation actually work...

okay so recently i've tried to do ligature strangulation using a shoelace with the hopes of succeeding, but unfortunately i failed as i just couldn't pass out i don't have any access to other methods thus i'm stuck with this one... man it would be a lie to say i'm not disappointed with this failed attempt, but well i'll just have to keep trying i guess.

i've been thinking that maybe i didn't pull the lace tight enough and that's why it didn't work, so i plan on trying again soon. though that begs the question... does this method actually even work? are there any videos of successful attempts with LS? lots of people here say it's hard to pull off and that kind of lowers my confidence in being able to succeed. i hope someone here can provide more insight on ligature strangulation 'cause i really wanna ctb already, and this method seems so simple in theory

also when i fully tied and tightened the lace around my neck icl it did feel kinda good; i'm not sure if that's a good sign or not

Yes, there's plenty of pics of people succeeding if you search ligature strangulation. Zipties will work way better than shoelaces.

Theoretically yes it's possible (there are documented cases) but like you said it's hard to pull off and requires a bit of practice
Maybe the reason why you couldn't pass out is because you didn't apply enough pressure some user said that the difference with ls and fsh/psh is that it's entirely up to you and how tight you can pull the ligature since there's no force helping you here like gravity would with fsh

so i guess practicing or simulating these scenarios would provide very little results since you aren't pulling enough or aren't testing with the intention of dying (at least not in that moment)
if you want to test your ligature or experience what unconsciousness feels like just press your shoelace tight against your carotids without a fixed knot

i'm also planning to use this method since like you i don't have a lot of options available but what really worries me is which knot to use and the fact that the knot would be in front the neck which i heard was the worst for fsh (idk if it applies to ls as well but i've always heard sides or back of the neck would be ideal)

Didn't tie the final knot, only the half knot cuz I was just experimenting, so it didn't keep the pressure. Woke up almost immediately and i felt fine. A little dizzy and lightheaded but otherwise fine.

It can work but to be realistic it probably wont. You can try partial but full suspension is the best bet.

Oh I see, I thought you meant a gap between the knot and your neck. Do you think a scarf would have a better reaction then since that's even thicker and could cover the whole neck? I'm scared of it breaking or a slip knot not sliding with it but a 12 mm rope still gives me the blood filled head feeling
