Today, with my graduation approaching, I question the existence of God... and I used to be a very religious person.
I've been through several religions, and Kardecism was the one I felt most connected to.
But in recent years, with so much bad stuff and suffering happening to me and the world, I've become an atheist.
In my view, I think a "God" of love, a heavenly "Father," would never let his children suffer like this... ah, but it's free will, but why create good and evil? Wouldn't it be better to just have good, just love? ah, but it's for the evolution of souls, but what's the point of that crap? Only for a masochistic God, maybe... seeing wars killing little children and innocent people at the cost of evolution... it's incomprehensible. Why create and invent pain, hunger, and so many other terrible feelings? It makes no sense for a "good" God... and the animals that in their natural habitat are forced to kill each other to eat, when we see those documentaries on Netflix it's heartbreaking, the animal that is killing takes a long time to finish, the slaughtered creature suffers in agony until it dies, when pieces aren't taken from it while it's still alive, and that must hurt a lot... why would a good God create a world like that? Before, I was afraid of killing myself and going to hell and rotting there, today I believe that God doesn't exist and was just an invention that ancient humans invented to appease other terrible humans, to restrain entire nations through fear... yes, if you are not good you will not go to heaven. My life will be without guilt, without fear of a God who will punish me for it, it will simply all end and that's it... that's what I believe. ✌️

I leave all my respect for those who have faith... it was just a moment I had on the subject that I felt like sharing!! 🙄

I see God as a source or starting point of existence, but not necessarily something with inherent meaning. I think humans have given it meaning to shape beliefs and behavior, partly out of the uncertainty and fear surrounding existence and what comes after death.

People have debated this question since the dawn of time. There is no evidence of the existence of God or if there is a God which religion is correct. Your stance is very logical and understandable. I choose to believe in God. You respect people who have faith, and I respect those who don't.

Once you reject the religious view, you have the additional problem of defining what god even is / would be. No matter what, hard to make sense of existence.

I used to have a lot of faith, but with the worsening of my depression, some unsuccessful attempts to leave home, horrible panic attacks during the pandemic that I still have today, these endless battles, all of this left me very lost and I started to seriously question my faith and God!!

Yes, I think about that a lot!🥺

I don't believe in a religious god, but I do believe that there is a much greater and incomprehensible intelligence governing the universe. It makes no sense for such a complex world to simply exist without anything else behind it. Our own consciousness is already absurd. Why are we even conscious? Why did it need to exist?
