Taste-wise I used to be partial to some spice, but I can't eat it anymore because I have ulcers and reflux. I actually found out I had that going on when I ate something spicy a couple of years ago. I woke up with horrific nausea just a few hours later and that kept happening in the weeks thereafter to where I needed an endoscopy. I guess spicy foods can really put you over the edge if you have GI issues.

I like moderately spicy food but only if the spiciness doesn't compete too much with other flavours; it's okay to me if it's a balance of spicy-salty-savory, but if it tips the scales into being so spicy that I'm in too much pain to enjoy any other aspect of the dish I can't handle it... I also prefer "warm spicy" to "cold spicy" but I don't really know how to articulate the distinction besides when I'm actively eating something and think it's one of those haha. If I'm struggling and straining myself to eat spicy food, it's just a severely unpleasant experience for me, I think eating is already unfortunately kind of a sensory roulette so adding sweating and crying into the mix is just a nightmare for me personally

i love spicy food, even really really spicy. what i eat the most is spicy chips, i love the extra spicy hot cheetos or any flavor takis but especially the blue ones because even though they are a bit less spicy the fact that they are blue somehow makes me feel like they taste better. i like spicy soups a lot and sometimes spicy chicken and hot sauce. i don't like actual peppers or anything with chunks of actual peppers though, peppers themselves have another taste to them besides the spicy that i don't like.

I used to love spicy foods! But after developing nausea and vomiting as a symptom of my extreme anxiety I had to cut it out. I splurge on occasion, like when I have steak fajitas I have to have some Cholula dashed on top aggressively.

Update: I am currently eating a spicy pizza. I hate it. Pizza should absolutely not be spicy!
