DMC package hard as a rock??

Just wondering if this is normal? Is this a part of the vacuum sealing process I'm assuming, and it will be more salt-like consistency upon opening?

Yup, it normal. Its vacuum packed but that's good.
Just keep it sealed until you test it.

Mostly because the air is completely sucked out of the bag.
