Cyanide from bitter almonds.

My almonds arrived today. the bag is huge, probably more than enough for two or three attempts. I'm not sure how to go about this or what I need to do beforehand.
Note? get rid of things to make my mom's life easier? I need a blender, too.
1.4mg of cyanide per almond.
.5mg per kg of weight. (136kg)
That equates to about 48.5 bitter almonds in one sitting to ctb.
The reason you can't find bitter almonds in the states is that it is fairly easy to accidentally go over a safe threshold. small children can ingest lethal amounts in as few as 10 almonds.
40 almonds nearly killed a woman in a study I was reading - might have succeeded had she not gone to the hospital. (Funny enough, they gave her SN to cure the cyanide?)
Either way, I ordered about 2lbs of bitter almonds, and I'm considering how to prepare them. I also want to do about 70, just in case.
Any concerns about chopping or blending them into a smoothie or something? Or that maybe the milk in a smoothie would somehow make it less potent?
bumping the thread. i'm also thinking about buying a 1lb bag of bitter apricot seeds off amazon. i'm kind of wary of the method after seeing how painful it is, as well as the potential to become a vegetable or get organ damage if i don't die. i'm still thinking about trying it, but i'll have to be somewhere really isolated if i start screaming.
Tell us a little bit about what it feels like to die by cyanide poisoning. Is it painless?
It's horrifying. It is not in any way a painless death. The deaths in Jonestown took anywhere between five and 20 minutes. First, your entire body starts to convulse. Then your mouth fills with a mixture of saliva, blood and vomit. Then you pass out, and then you die. Your body is deprived of oxygen completely. It's a horrific death. Maria Katsaris, [one of Jones's mistresses and right-hand women] comes onto the microphone [on the audio recording the group made of their suicide] and is directing them on where to stand in line. [After hearing many children crying], she says, "It's not painful, they're just crying because it tastes bitter." But it was undoubtedly extremely painful to each and every person.
the op hasn't come back yet so i've been waiting for them to update the thread. maybe they're waiting to buy a blender.
it seems too easy just to order it off amazon and blend the apricot kernels up into a smoothie, but there have been reported deaths and digestion pain from eating cherry pits or apricot kernels without trying to ctb, so i think it's kind of plausible you could die if you ate a ton of them. you can also drink the kernels with a flavored alcohol, but i don't know if that would make you less nauseous or cover the taste.
i'm thinking about researching that later too. i initially wanted to look into bitter apricot seeds more because it fits into my budget, but people seem to be interested in n2o as an alternative to nitrogen and helium (harder to access/more expensive). i mostly don't know what to buy for it compared to the apricot seeds. i hope you enjoy your trip to the grocery store.
Idk if just eating the almonds would do it. There's a CodysLab video on extracting cyanide from cherry pits (which are related to almonds, so it could be done with almonds) but it's a fairly involved process that lets off toxic fumes.

From my research, it does seem doable. Amygdalin converts to cyanide in our bodies, which is the trick here. that's why I'm worried about a smoothie diluting it somehow.
But people get sick from bitter almonds, and it's due to the cyanide in it. Even a small amount will not be particularly fun.
yuuurp here's the video. i saw it come up while i was trawling the forum for cyanide/amgydalin posts and someone commented "DON'T TRY THIS IF YOU'RE NOT A CHEMIST". i guess because you could mess up and fume your house up or hurt yourself while making the cyanide. you'd need to know how to handle the chemicals, have the lab equipment, wear a gas mask. newbies like me wouldn't be as prepared.
although it's potentially diluted you're less likely to puke if you have something that can cover the taste of how bitter the almonds are imo. it probably tastes nasty on it's own.

What a coincidence! I actually attempted last year with bitter almonds. It came to about 70g and just blitzed them in the blender with water. Truly tasted horrendous. So I just drank it at once and lied down to nap. Extremely high heartbeat but forced myself to sleep through it. After a few hours I assumed it just didn't work and went downstairs. When I came back up I must of passed out and woke up with a gash on my forehead from when I fell. I managed to get up and go back to bed since I thought this was it. I ended up just passing out a while.
I'm pretty sure it failed for me because it might not have been pure or heavily processed . But can see it working If it's the right stuff
something i need to ponder too. thanks for bringing this up. i was pondering buying apricot seeds straight off amazon but i should probably get them from an actual seller.
