CTB by the method of drowning in a canal? How painful it is and how can I reduce the pain?

Due to health issues and tragic incidents surrounding my life I donot have enough energy to research about methods of hanging or about pesticides. My SN was taken by my mother one year ago and it's not available in my city, I enquired it.


2 days ago I saw in news a girl committed suicide by drowning in a large canal in a nearby city. So, I was thinking of doing the same to CTB!

I just wanted to know how much painful this method is?

I donot have access to any drugs like ketamine or anything else to make it less painful! Is there an over the counter drug that can make it less painful?

From what I've read, people who have drowned and survived described the feeling of drowning is if their lungs were burning, so I would assume it'd be painful until you eventually lose consciousness.
