Here's the idea:
Starting with a bucket with a lid. I'll cut a hole in the lid to fit a pool cleaner tube through, sealing the gaps by melting the extra plastic. The tube will lead to a garbage bin that I'll also cut a hole in the lid of so I don't have to leave the bin open, thus reducing the amount of leakage. For neutralizing formic acid fumes I'll just stuff some cotton soaked with baking soda solution inside the tube since I don't have a way to make an effective gas washer. Basically I'm creating an exit bin rather than an exit bag. For most people this isn't the ideal choice, but I'd definitely have a much easier time making this contraption than an exit bag, given the materials I already have on hand. I'll have the final materials by next week, so if all goes well I'll be "out" by the first week of next month.

Now for the extra: I do wonder if I'll have enough CO production to guarantee death, or if I should add a second "death gas" just to get rid of as much possibility of failure as possible. If I were to do this, what would be a viable supplemental toxic gas to add to the exit bin?
