I tried to do it at home to no avail as when burning the charcoal the neighbour caught me and asked what I was doing to which I said having a BBQ then quickly put it out.

Could I potentially burn the charcoal inside so I draw no attention to myself? Or should I try to find somewhere discrete as I have a car?

What do you think?

You will want to burn the charcoal out side until there is a layer of ash or you will fill the house with smoke etc and most likely set off a fire alarm.
Can use a car, people just tape the vents and where the co can leak out.

It will be terrible unpleasant and you will most likely have to leave the room because of the smoke and fumes from the charcoal which is why you have to burn them off outside which means you will fail.
