Hello, my doctor wants me to switch from Xanax to Clonazepam, is there any real difference between these two? Any comments will be highly appreciated.

I guess you can't know until you just test them out. I've used clonazepam and it can be helpful for anxiety and, in turn, sleep. Apparently clonazepam is used as an antiseizure whereas xanax is specifically for anxiety disorders and doesn't stay in your system as long. Who knows what that really means for you until you try it out though.

Imo it depends on why your taking it.

Xanax is faster acting and shorter half-life or whatever. (Panic attacks etc) 6 hrs(or so)

Clornazapam (in my experience) takes about 30mins-1hr to fully "hit" the anti seizures aspect adds body relaxation. Supposed to last like 12 hrs (For my general anxiety/c-ptsd shittt)

Also, in an addiction clinic i was switched to Clornazapam to manage Xanax "abuse" (i was really just struggling at the time and bullshited a lil).

I now take a lowdose daily. When my life(and envioment settle) I will be looking into getting off and using other things. It's been necessary for the time tho and I do not regret it.

Hope you're doing your own research tho.

Clornazapam has a much longer half-life, so you need to take it less frequently (it lasts for longer). This makes it less habit forming than Xanax.

I would try and switch!
