For a while I've been smoking cigarettes and really want to put one out one me, but can't decide where would be safest (or as safe as it can be) to do it, if that makes sense. I relapsed this year in cutting and while I know that's not real to some people, I can't kill myself yet for a few reasons, I have some stuff I need to take care of. A year ago I broke one of my fingers and I got lucky my family believed me when I said it was an accident.

I just want extreme pain without the consequences and can't afford to get caught, I'm sure everyone gets that. Hence why I can't decide whether or not to put it out on my arm or leg or how long to hold it there--? I need to do it and I'm going to do it at the latest this week, but I just wanted to ask the void before I do, I guess. Sorry I know this is odd, I talk weird I'm not sure why. Thanks for reading if anyone did.

it takes about 2-3 seconds for a cigarette burn to form, but it depends on how hot the source is itself and location. areas like the wrist, ankles, hips tend to be the most painful and sensitive. scarring isn't that noticeable for most cigarette burns (from what i've seen, i don't have much experience with burns) but a bunch might get you caught. debatably the healing process would suck the most as it can become itchy and even have blisters form as it could inflame- not even mentioning which degree of burn you could get. treat it like any normal burn and hide it like any other scar, it's really up to you

thanks so much, i really appreciate it. i know its a bit silly lol but i was worried about the pressing or the ash causing issues but so long as i can treat it like other burns ill be good, i was worried abt fucking up (somehow) and like somehow injuring myself in a way that would require medical care or something, unrelated but also your pfp is so cute

I've been burnin myself on my shoulder for ages. I don't really ever get seen without a shirt on and it's feels nice to me. Tons of fat there so its pretty painful. The scars do stay though. There's some scars that have been there for like 8 months now as long as you wash out your burns. Just some soap and water is cool. I haven't had any issues. They just scab over for a week and turn into a lil spot. Sometimes hold em on there for like 4-8 seconds And I've never had any issues lol

I would advise not to, but I probably cannot stop you. I've been burning myself for years and scars stay; the oldest already being 6-7 years old. Furthermore burns can be really deep, you get blisters and it can get infected. It is not worth the addiction, the scars and the problems it can cause for only a couple of seconds of relieve. Believe me.
As with all other scars, people will notice and may ask questions. It doesn't look natural and I also still haven't come up with a good excuse…

i get what you mean, and i appreciate your concern and your insight, and yeah my biggest concern is potential infection, ive been severely SHing and furthermore burning for a while at this point, but was just out of my depth with cigarettes. im already fully covered head to toe for other reasons and am covered in scars-- i dont want to make someone worry about me and feel like they have to dissuade me, but i also appreciate your insight and deterrence, this will probably be a one time thing since ive already quit smoking, i just have one left, ykwim? i believe you, the scars definitely dont fade, and again i appreciate the concern, and im sorry for not heeding your warning. i dont want to make it seem like im disrespecting you, i really do appreciate your response (sorry edited bc it got formatted all weird)
