I think a lot of non depressed people struggle to deal with understanding how we feel so they just resort to platitudes like that. I try to see it for what it is, which is either an admission that they are way in over their depth but just want to convey that they hope the best for you or at worst, is a lazy way to make themselves feel like they "tried". Either way I think it says more about those people and how they think than it reflects on us. Its part of the reason why I just decided to isolate myself because people who dont get it will give platitudes or worse, get offended. People who understand cant help because we're basically both drowning and nobody has a life vest.

Everyone that has ever lived, as far as we know, dies eventually. Some people die from not taking care of themselves. Some people die of disease or accident. Some people take risks, engage in risky behavior for fun and die as a result. Some people take risks hoping or at least not caring if they die. Some people are murdered. Some people commit suicide.

We all will die. It's just a matter of when and how. You could be safe and take care of yourself and not catch major diseases and suffer no traumatic injuries and live a long life. Or you can did as a baby through no fault of your own. You still die.

Does it really matter how you die in the end? I don't know that it does, or that it should.

Suicide is definitely a solution to my life. I tried to make this... life thing work, but i never succeeded. I achieved absolutely nothing in my entire 38 years on this earth. Things are getting worse in almost every possible aspect. Why stay?

I hear ya - 37 with nothing to my name. I had a career and a great path and wrecked it.

I wish I could just go through with it already.
