Do you sometimes wonder whether other people really like you, and whether you could/should increase contact? Maybe people on both sides worry in the same way and nothing ever happens. I think about it, but then I also think about how it might become a commitment and I don't know whether I can keep the connection going.

I wish everyone had a matchmaker for friendship interface attached to their e-mail address. When both click intensify, they'll be notified. Like tinder but for normal stuff. There was this site called crushlink 25 years ago. I did have a crush on someone, and then got a mail from them that there was someone liking me. It was a scam and one had to enter a ton of e-mail addresses of others to get more hints. Luckily I had many e-mail addresses so entered those. But then I would have had to subscribe to a newspaper to get more hints.

I'm not sure I care anymore whether people really like me or not. I've been more comfortable doing stuff on my own anyway. It's just that I don't see a point anymore.

If you're worried about being able to keep the connection, you could maybe tell them about it (I understand that not everyone can hear this). I've got a few friends who know I barely interact and it's never gotten in the way of our friendships
