My dreams at night tend to mirror my day life at the time. Not in terms of content usually but, in terms of feelings. For a couple of months now, it's just been non stop anxiety dreams. Where they actually feel in some ways worse than real life because they tend to be a whole series of bad things happening consecutively I need to try and deal with. Annoying really because, there's not much mental rest when you worry during the day and then, you worry at night too.

I don't seem to be massively creative with my bad dreams. Usually they are a variation of something stressful that's actually happened in my life. Except, I just seem to run with it in my dream life and, make it many tines worse!

How about you? Do your dreams reflect your emotions at the time or, are they a nice form of escapism?

Mine's mostly better than real life. I often go on an adventure in my dream, I never get to finish the adventure though since I never have recurring dreams. Might have smth to do with my habit of daydreaming myself to sleep.

I do also get dreams that make me extremely uncomfortable as well just less often.

That's my hope really. I have these strong maladaptive (pretty much) daydreams before sleep in the hopes my brain will contine with them but- no. It just reverts to something banal but unpleasant!

Most of the dreams I remember are weird and involve elements from video games I have played and so I often just enjoy the wackiness of them and so they are often better than being conscious. Even if some negative thing happen in the dream tho, it will generally be better than being conscious for me as when I dream my emotions are more dulled and I don't fully take in what happens and what I do in the dreams meaning most dreams will be better than being awake. The only exception is if a nightmare happens that either relates to school or abandonment. These are the most painful things to me and so is worse than being conscious on an average day but these things happening in real life is still worse than a dream of it.

My dreams are like, so ridiculous they are hardly like reality, they are only an imitation of that, a very poor one in that, often I dream about other people, very very rarely about myself, dreaming of interesting scenarious that sometimes remind of the hollywood ones, or sometimes it feels like a dramatic story like from a book, other time it's like games I have played! combining it all in a multiverse that coexists! I used to have lots of school dreams but more and more often I just dream of whatever else my mind brings me. If there is a nightmare, it can be quite wicked or depressing, but thankfully I dont get these too often!
Maybe it's a good thing my dreams are so outlandish, and so spectacular in a silly way, but it's more like enjoying the show, rather tthan having a peaceful soothing rest

It varies, I have a lot of nightmares but if I'm going through a hard time, I prefer to sleep as much as possible so I'm not thinking

I have been seeing same type of dreams for last 5 years or so...it is almost like some entity is twisting my dreams...after seeing these dreams, I wake up disgusted and disturbed. I would never do anything like that in reality.

I wish I could live in my dreams, they're so nice. Everything that I have wanted are in my dreams... It sucks to wake up to realize, "Oh that wasn't real." The salt being rubbed into the wound is that my dreams are so realistic feeling that it feels like it could just come true. But obviously it wont.

my dreams are one of three things usually:
1. either reliving trauma or something worse. one day i had a dream that someone was dragging a knife through my neck. was kinda scary.
2. normal activities, this can literally be a 20 second dream about me starting to fold my laundry. this is also the type of dream i regularly mistake as real
3. just general weirdness. one time i kept having dreams i was dating my best friend, that was something i knew was false but also wasn't horribly damaging

There been times i had good awesome dreams but moslty I have nightmares

Like see all people i care about leave or die in front of me.

Living a natural disaster and not survive.

Being followed and eventually killed.

Or a really creepy Rollercoaster that I can't get off.

I trynot to think about it too much 😕

My dreams deal with all of the stress of my day but make it worse. I am either fighting with my partner or family or I am watching some horrible atrocity unfold in front of my eyes (massive accident, mass death, etc). My subconscious unloads all the stress I constantly feel.

I'm not sure. They are highly conceptual and usually feature no narrative or characters. I'm not even in half of them. They are mentally exhausting but insightful.

I don't really dream a lot anymore, but the times that i do dream they are either of the following:
  1. Something that could plausibly happen in my life/has happened, but way exaggerated and a bit weird.
  2. A really special dream, that i will remember for years to come. These have happened maybe three times in the past 10 years.
  3. A pleasant dream. These are rare, but i usually wake up a lot earlier than usual if i have one. I also feel a lot more well rested than usual.

Mine usually have stories and settings like in the games I'm currently playing, it's like going on adventures hehe
Sometimes I dream about things I've been craving really bad like being close with someone or drugs
There's some less pleasant ones too with scenarios based on bad situations I've been in in the past but they're less common

Depends, I was definitely having lots of nightmares a few months back but now I catch myself sleeping a few hours more just to stay in the dream. The meds made them much more real too which saddens me even more. I can't count how many times I lost someone I loved that I didnt even know, waking up from a place where you are loved back and happy is one of the worst feelings. Cruel

I have good and bad dreams. The only constant is their weirdness. Bad ones will be whole strings of awful events like you describe. Mine are quite creative with science fiction, horror, and even paranormal elements recently. I worry my dreams are specific enough for some to identify me otherwise I'd go into more detail.

For me, the absolute worst years of my life were dreamless. As soon as it gets even slightly better, I'm haunted by endless hyperealistic nightmares every night. From birth, my entire life has either been falling asleep to, or waking up to nightmares.

I can count the number of good dreams I've ever had on one hand, and I'll be 36 this year.

I'd like nice dreams~ :) but I don't get them! :(
I forget them very easily, but they usually have to do with school a bunch and are almost never very pleasant~ >_< at least, I have none of the absolute worst worries of real life probably! :<

They tend to be based on my real life to some degree. I don't remember too many other than the disturbing ones. But tbh even nice dreams become unpleasant upon waking and realizing they never actually happened.

most of my dreams are either pleasant or strange, but i haven't had a memorable dream that i'd consider to be a nightmare in a while.

they tend to be vivid and nonsensical in nature, and they usually have some sort of fictional character in them. it's probably what my minds eye would look like if i could visualize things.

I've had that for a long time, too! Recurring dreams about the same place and the same person, feeling the fear, getting lost in that place. I recently tried to process all those bad memories, and I think it has helped, the dreams came less often recently.

Otherwise I've often dreamed I could suddenly fly, like just hover above the ground - then I wondered why I hadn't noticed this earlier, and it all felt so real during the dream!

Generelly, I think most dreams contain very accurate details which make it hard for me to notice something's off, but I wonder why stuff does not work as it should while I'm in the dream. Can't be more specific, unfortunately.

I either dream nicer or much worse, but seldom in the middle. I've had wonderful dreams in which I am able to fly high over never-ending forests, where I'm in love like in movies, where I have crazy sex, but I've also have horrible nightmares with amorphous monsters or terrifying events that "kill" me. When I "die" in dreams, I often wake up disappointed to be alive, and when I have a wonderful dream, I wake up disappointed because reality sucks.

They're beautiful, although most nights I don't remember any dream. Reality is my nightmare, and dreaming is my (sadly short) escape.

Most of the time i have an underlying feeling of dread in my dreams. The content of them is pretty neutral, i'm usually just travelling between places or going between floors of a building. But there's always a weird sense of something being wrong?

My dreams are generally much nicer than my life. Since I typically fall asleep thinking about old friends, I often dream that we have reconnected.
