Recent event make me feel even more afraid of the safety of this site, and its members. Does anybody know, if the worst happens, what are we going to do next? And of course much thanks to the mods and admins who are doing their best to keep up this site, persecution aside.

Within like a week there would be another website that we all flock to. Supply and demand after all.

100% agreed. They have always been trying to shut down these suicide sites. I'm an old boy, so I remember the old usenet groups (ASM, ASH). ASH in particular (I better not spell out the full name, I'm not sure if it's allowed?) got a LOT of attention back in the day, and it never got shut down.

Of course we got banned on reddit, but there is still an offshoot of SaSu on reddit that hasn't been banned (Just quarantined).

Before Sasu was created I was going to create my own site, luckily I didn't have to (My web design skills are nowhere near as good as the current admins/devs).

But if this site goes down, I could create a basic forum myself to replace it, and I would be willing to do that.

This is why I am not afraid of New York Times articles, Ofcom, Reddit bans, or anything else. This community NEEDS to exist.

Even if Sasu was totally banned, and every mod and member put in jail, within a few months there would be another site with the same time springing up somewhere, because there are always going to be people who, fundamentally, want to end their lives. That will never change.

The problem is with society, not with ASH, ASM, Sasu, or any other site like this.

Instead of trying to "cancel" us or ban us... Why don't they listen to us?

Because that would require effort and empathy: 2 things people nowadays lack. Besides, it's much easier to avoid fixing the cause of the problem and push all the blame onto someone else than to actually get their shit together and try to make this world a better place. This is just how corrupt people think. Stupid corrupt people at that. They assume it'll all magically fix itself once the big bad forum site is taken down and everyone will get better mental health so they don't have to pour money into fixing their systems, which is ironic as it would actually make people more suicidal and more likely to do dangerous things but they don't care about anybody but themselves so they don't think about that.
