Just realizing how much I have done after my mom died. I cook my own meals, buy my own groceries, wash and style my own hair, etc. This all seemed basic but my mom controlled all these things. But clothing wa sa big one. I was never allowed to shop for myself. My whole wardrobe was picked out by my deceased mom. My aunt also tries to buy me clothing. And though I know she means well, it inhibits my style. I'm gonna try to do a bit of shopping each week and rebuild my wardrobe. However, can anyone relate to their parents controlling them like this?

What I wore, how my hair looks like, what I eat..
I'm really glad that I really moved out from that hell house.
No more abuse, more freedom and I can wear whatever the fck I want and my parents can't forbid me that anymore

My parents were really overprotective and did the same but once I turned 16 I was uncontrollable and they had no choice but to buy me what I want.
I guess I was a spoiled brat too.
