I'm at a point I'm willing to try anything, for my backpain but I'm afraid it'll just become yet another dead end. I wonder what if anything they do differently than simply talking? Is it worth a try or is it pointless?

Body psychotherapy, bodywork and massage have all helped me with a lot of stuff, mental and physical, so well worth a try if you can find someone good that you can trust.

The focus is primarily on bodily experience rather than thoughts and feelings, although they all obviously affect one another. I find it better than just talking because its dealing with your whole self, body and mind.

Unless you are talking about a clinical hypnotist and/or biofeedback therapist, anybody in psychology who claims to specialize in pain is a lying quack.
