Ever since my depression hit on me i began to have a hyper focus on stuff from the 1910s - 1950s, a time that i never got used to live.

I love listening to the songs from that time as they give me an unique vibe unlike the current songs (That are mostly dominated by AI Artists apparently unfortunately).

However there was an artist that always caught my attention even before i got this depression.

The Caretaker, aka Leyland Kirby.

His songs definitely give me a vibe, and i love it, because they distort the songs in a way that make them sound magestic, especially for someone with depression like me, like a comforting sensation that i was always after.

Leyland Kirby is my main inspiration for my songs, i have a bandcamp page where i post my albums there, yesterday i set my last album on pre-order, it will release the same day that i will ctb.

Anyway, does someone love them like i do? I wanna hear your opinions and experiences with his songs, would be cool

It's kind of in the same genre, but there's an album by Dan Barret of Have A Nice Life under his solo project, Giles Corey, that is very on the abstract/acoustic/dark/depressive side.

This song in particular kind hits that spot:

mannnnnn, this gives me the chills, i love it, i love experimental songs like this, it helps me loose a bit when i feel too intense or at the urge of having a crisis.

The Caretaker has always been one of my most listened to artists. The way his songs are capable to convey something with no words and or lyrics is astonishing at being able to place you in a brand new environment, forcing you to engage along with connect to the song on a level that isn't just "these lyrics are relatable," but rather that the environment curated by the songs is something you feel like you are in.

Basically, top tier artist.
