Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Ever since I began considering suicide I unconsciously started trying to justify my reasons. I read some philosophy, mostly buddhism after I felt some light or modest form of enlightenment after I truly believed I was going to kill myself, it went away after I got too scared, though I still occasionally read into buddhism. Did anyone else pick up similar philosophies when they were at the edge?

I've been trying my best to engage with the existentialists, especially Camus. The kind of cold-logic no-nonsense approach to the nature of life and meaning rings really true to me.
It's just kinda hard, cuz these writings are real dense and I'm honestly not the best about reading books. Plus, even while I find the ideas interesting and convincing, I'm somehow not all that actually affected in my outlook on things.
And I'm not super familiar with buddhism, but I'd be curious to find out more. What texts are you looking at? I'm vaguely aware that it's kind of like a hybrid religion/philosophy, but I'm not aware of any foundational texts like the bible might be for Christianity.

I was more curious when I had the mindset to recover to be honest. Kind of being willing to try anything that would make life have more sense/ meaning/ make it easier to cope with.

Being set on suicide, I definitely don't want to believe Buddhism or any other religions are real. Seeing as I hate the idea of reincarnation and I don't want to be punished in some way in an afterlife.
