It's been 7 months now that I've gone nights without any sleep. If I'm lucky I'll only get 4-5 hours of sleep. I tried to read before bed, put all electronic devices away, take some sleeping aid but none of it helps. Sometimes, I'll fall asleep but then I jolt back awake due to a small little noise or slight disturbance and then I won't be able to fall back to sleep again. It's starting to drive me insane, my brain fog is getting worse, it's hard to focus, my chest hurts so bad every morning I'm about to go off to work. I just want to be able to go to sleep with no problems. Effortlessly. Anyone else dealing with similar issues?

Yes, it is similar for me. My sleep quality is directly linked to how bad my anxiety is. Over the last 6 months i could count on one hand the couple of nights i slept 7+ hours, and i felt significantly better the next day, but i cant find any way to achieve it.

I have had chronic middle and terminal insomnia for decades. Just today I work up at 11:45pm yesterday. It is a bitch.

Since you are already using pretty good sleep hygiene I am guessing you have some sort of anxiety/depression. Have you talked to anyone about those issues? My insomnia gets worse when both of those worsen for me. If it has been 7 months, obviously something happened or has changed since then to trigger this. You may want to talk to someone about it. I hope you can find rest soon! 🤗

This. My natural sleep schedule tends to flip on its head. If I have nothing to wake up for, I stay awake all night and sleep through the day. I've been trying to fix it. Sure enough, going against your circadian rhythm is hard and mine's screwed. This has been going on for many years. Xanax doesn't do anything, some antidepressants did help me counter it by making it easier for me to stay awake, others had absolutely no effect. I literally have to force myself to sleep at night so that I can be *somewhat* active during the day. Lately, that means taking up to 200mg of hydroxyzine. Tried Trazodone and it makes my nose feel stuffy as hell.

I can't understand how people fall asleep the moment their head hits the pillow. My dad and brother are like that meanwhile it takes me an hour to get to sleep and I can't even sleep at all if there's any background noise, or light, or if I'm in a bed that isn't mine.
