Death is caused by a cardiac arrhythmia, possibly accompanied by respiratory arrest. According to toxicological literature, they are often fatal. Death usually occurs within 12 to 48 hours. Tricyclic antidepressants reduce intestinal function, resulting in slow absorption from the intestines.

Sleeping Pills
No antidepressant induces deep, prolonged sleep. Therefore, 500 mg of at least one long-acting sleeping pill is necessary. In high doses, tricyclic antidepressants can sometimes cause epileptic seizures or a very high fever (up to 40°C or higher). The ingested sleeping pills suppress these seizures, but not the high fever. Fever is a normal phenomenon when taking a high dose of antidepressants. At a high body temperature, death will occur more quickly.

An insufficient dose of sleeping pills may result in someone experiencing the cardiac and respiratory arrest semi-consciously, leading to an inhumane death.

The use of antiemetics (anti-vomiting medication) is essential.

Method of Intake
Amitriptyline are available as tablets, capsules, or coated pills (dragees).
- Tablets: Crush them in a mortar.
- Capsules: Open them and keep the powder dry.
- Dragees: These have a hard coating and require some effort to crush. The leftover coating fragments are harmless.

The link says the Dr applies these methods to very old and sick people. Does this mean it wouldn't be as effective for younger, physically well people?

I know of a user on here whose friend died of ami and propranolol mix. Then said user also went out the same way. Thread attached.

If I remove my Amitriptyline from the blister pack and keep it in a glass jar in a dark,cool place as I collect them for my method will they still be effective and pack the same punch so to speak?
