I had to have a blood transfusion but they've left a saline flush for it in here. Could I use it to put air into my IV?

I will answer this even though it is older just in case someone wants to know about air in an IV line.

Air going through IV line can kill you, yes.

BUT it requires a LARGE amount of air. A few bubbles won't work. I was told during my degree that it would take more than a full line of tubing to be completely full of air to go into your vein for it to cause a problem. So, I don't have an answer as to exactly how much air would work, but it more than the few bubbles of air that a person thinks would kill them. FYI
