After the death of Lil Peep xxx recorded Falling down (replacing ILoveMakkonen on sunlight on your skin).
The truth is Lil Peep and xxx had beef. Friends of Peep said he would have never approved the song because xxx is homophobic (even assaulted people for being part of LGBTQI) There were domestic violence allegations against him. He did armed robbery. Lol. Onfroy (xxx) tweeted support for Dylann Roof, the Charleston church shooter, in 2015, later deleting the post.

Questions?

It's… complex.

There isn't any real question of the horrible traits he possessed. A lot of his flaws leaned towards aggression and violence, and since he grew up in Florida, the environment and culture around him wasn't doing him any favors. He had a history of fighting, be it the DV claims, be it against others, etc.

With the mass shooter thing, I think it's worth mentioning a decent amount of people fall into the trap of seeing mass shooters as victims who are finally lashing out. However, as with Roof, this wasn't really the case and dude was clearly motivated by hate. Still, it's easy to see similar traits in others, and given X's history I don't find it surprising that at one time he may have seen Roof as a martyr who lashed out, rather than the hateful piece of shit he was.

X very much fit the role of a bully who themselves was abused. Nobody should excuse this behavior regardless of the context, but we also shouldn't fight these people and constantly force them into the box they were in, rather than offering a hand out.

Do I think people should worship him? No. He wasn't a saint, and he wasn't a figure of redemption either, thought I do think in his later years he made some pretty admirable steps towards redemption. Do I think he is a fairly accurate representation of someone who was mentally ill and deeply struggling? Ofc.

Many of us have flaws we wish we could change, and parts of us we wish we could redeem. It's important to not forget the past of someone like X, but equally so to acknowledge the steps to change he was making.

Also do I think ILM'e version was better? No. Do I think he deserved to get snubbed? Also no. Poor dude got fucked by drake only to have it happen with X as well lol
