The Fearful

Hello.

I have been given countless different prescriptions, tried countless different meds in the span of a decade and this is always how it goes. I feel good for the first 3 or 4 weeks after starting medication treatment, then afterwards I return to my roots. Depression makes a comeback, I have a hard time enjoying anything, mind's filled with depressing facts, just overall in a pretty awful mood.

Does anyone have a clue why this could be happening? Any help would be much appreciated.

Just some general information from a DR who worked in the system from a few different angles and now runs a clinic helping people get off those drugs.

Loneliness is a big cause of depression that isn't easily solved. Another is guilt, still not easily solved....at all. But more in your power to solve. A DR once worded it to me like this. Make sure you make decisions you would be proud of. I would word it like this. Step back from yourself. Imagine a good friend is you. What would you advise that friend is a good decision? Make those choices.

Because they're just a crutch. The underlying problem is still there.

this or depending on the medication, the body grows a tolerance to it so it doesnt work/you need more

Have you talked about this with your doctor that's prescribing you these medication? When my dose is changed, it feels different for the first few weeks than it does after that, but if the effects it settles on aren't enough for me, my doctor adjusts the dose accordingly. I think it's normal for medications for these kinds of things to take time to fine tune.

Me too. A month is the max relief I've had from any medication. The only ones that worked gave me max one month.

I think my brain resets to it's normal

I do yes, but it usually goes worse and worse. The dose increases and that causes me to feel worse and worse, instead of better and better.
