Discussion Will my shrink put the foot down?

My shrink knows about my suicide plan, she knows that i am mentally prepared for it and she has seen me down these past few days.

She asked if i had opened up to my psychologist and i said no. The reason for that is that my psychologist knows my family(She worked with me on a rehabilitation center back when i was a child.) So it kinda felt sacriliegous to open up because i didn't want her to see me in a sad mood.

Any potential guesses on whether she is alerted to my plan? I don't want to be sent to the ward.

Any psychologist, therapist, social worker, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, school counselor, teacher, (etc) is a mandated reporter. Any government-associated suicide hotline is similar, and will track your location if you plan to CTB whether you have location on or not.

In the future, non-carceral/anti-psychiatric-hold hotlines and groups run by peers instead of people employed by the system are more likely to give you the space you need.

Now, depending on what area you're in, you will either have cops coming to your house, or mental health-based social workers. The latter is the best case scenario, but cops are most common in the USA at least.

Are you marginalized in any way that puts you at risk of police brutality? Have you been to a mental hospital before? Those are two questions that can change a lot of how you should handle this.

The reason why i am worried that she might talk with my psychologist is because she asked if i had opened up to her, which i answered with no.

She appareently has a pretty low commitment rate, so hopefully she will know that speaking to my psycholgist risks getting me commited, which she doesnt want to see happen.

The mental health system here is REALLY barebones, we dont even have suicide hotlines, and my psychiatrist told me that a few of her patients actually ended their own lives(And her liscence wasn't revoked btw).

The reason why i am worried that she might talk with my psychologist is because she asked if i had opened up to her, which i answered with no.

Now, this depends on how common it is for psychs to follow the code of ethics and how common it is for any disciplinary action to me taken against those who don't. However, plenty of psychs have clients that have killed themselves... the difference is whether the client told the psych they intend to or not. If a client states their intent to harm themself or others, it's required to be reported according to the Turkish Psychological Association (at least assuming this PDF is up to date).
