Too High To Die

I'm 104lbs and desperate at this point. My drug use is way too high to OD at this point.
I'm about to grab this rope. It's 50inches long, I'm about to grab two because my wife wants to go due to her leg wound from IV drugs who is about 85lbs.

Will this rope work on a tree? I already know to tie a heaving line knot thanks to a thread I read and to tie it to the crotch of the tree. We live in the East Coast so Oak trees are very prevalent in our area. I'm just worried about the rope breaking.

I also wanna know the best place to put the noose around my neck. Like closer to my chin or my adam's apple?

Also found 1/2" nylon rope 50 ft, is that too thick or should I get the 3/8" nylon rope. They sell 100 ft but I don't want to have to cut it. I feel like it's a bad idea.

If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. I'll post before doing it.

Either one would probably hold, but any store worth their salt knows the tensile strength of their ropes so ask to be sure. I'd recommend using a cover story about a swingset or something. Thinner ropes can be more painful but also compress the veins more effectively, so it's up to personal preference. Just make sure the rope is flexible enough to actually tie the knot and that it has low enough friction for the loop to constrict well. 50 ft will suffice.

In full suspension the rope should be as high on the neck as it can go to minimise pain. Hanging is a relatively nontraumatic method though, so if you screw up you can usually just untie your new tie and try again later. Either that or it's no longer your problem. Good luck!

Thanks for the info, would tying a bandana around our necks to help with the pain cause issues with the end goal?

I would NOT recommend using the 3/8 sisal. For one it only holds 60lbs according to homedepots stock of their 3/8 sisal rope. It's also very abrassive so it's going to cut and leave marks if you fail.

Appreciate this. I'll go with the 50" nylon rope. Instead of a tree, we're using 2nd story porch. I want it low enough where we can't panic and grab anything but at the same time if something goes wrong, I want our feet low enough so we don't break anything. We're gonna use chairs. Trees are our last option. We don't really care who finds us.

I hope it goes well. Cheers! Take care
