I see this a lot on the internet and in asking why ? Does it make you feel better to put down other people with different beliefs than yours ?

You're speaking in absolutism... Why do Christians insult every other religion as well as atheists?

I am an atheist and get along with Christians, Muslims, and others... But I know a lot of Christians who can't tolerate 5 minutes with someone who dares believe something different then they do.

I agree with u that it is very odd. I think it comes from a place of feeling wronged by Christianity and seeking ways to loudly broadcast their opinion. They want to even the score. I think alot of it is very silly. Yeah the church isnt perfect but do u really think your making a difference by commenting hate on a tiktok of someone reading a bible??? Do you think all Christians are a hive mind and youve insulted the pope too? In some cases its just about wanting to feel superior too. They think they are smarter than people who are religious because they've "figured it out". Its offshoots of a group of atheists who devote their career to loudly " debunking" religion. U just have to ignore it and realize these people are seeking attention.

most of the people in this world are ignorant towards others, including atheists. Their usual version of ignorance is the idea that they are smarter than all religious people, because in their minds believing in any kind of omnipotent sentient power instantly means you are a retard.

I personally see this kind of atheist-ignorance more ofthen within young / very yound people. Pseudo-intellectual smartass teens with bad grades, coz their "different kind of intelectual". They don't even see that they actually have their own versions of god, which are people like jordan peterson or elon musk...

Then another atheist group that i think is statisticly more hateful towards any religion are just LGBT victims... They are very pissed and angry just by their nature and this particular subject is a great way to piss them hard, because basicly any religion says that what they do / represent is against god. It's hard to NOT hate religion, if it says that you are going straight to hell, just because of being yoursefl XD

Well, I'm not a true atheist. I do believe in a higher power. I just don't believe in religion. It's just a man made construct.

So in my personal life, I've been surrounded by Christians because my family are Christians.

They've been very pushy. And that's a nice way to put it. I still don't really insult them though. I don't believe in it. Meaning when I state my opinion about Christianity itself, it becomes a negative statement against them and Christianity. Since I'm basically saying I don't care or believe in the thing that's most important to them.

That being said, people can choose what they want to believe in. And I certainly understand that religion gives people hope. So good for them.

This was something I did when I was probably between 14 and 16. Im agnostic now. People in general want to belong to "tribes" so to speak. Notice most people want you to fit into one box or another. Are you atheist, agnostic, christian, muslim, catholic, buddist, hindu, white, brown, happy, sad, jock, nerd? People need a community to belong to and identify with. Then it is easy to use this to project superiority. You live like that? I live better. I live the right way. You dont. That type of thing. We love to tell each other what to do. Idk.

Yeah religion is a human construct... Used to fight empires with fear I imagine...

But some people without a religion are insulted as a sinner... Those with a religion can be called delusional...

Based on proof... Christians are idiots... Why would you believe in something you cant see, hear, or prove... It's almost make believe until God appears in your room and says 'hey bro, yeah, I'm real... Anyways... Sup...'...

Ya know...

First off, a lot of atheists don't dislike Christianity and many of the ones who do tend to dislike religion in general.

Two, the ones who do specifically hate Christianity are usually the ones who come from Christian backgrounds or who are a part of demographics who have been negatively impacted by Christianity. A lot of that hatred is a response to ways in which Christians have caused trauma and harm to them and to others around them. It also doesn't help that Christians often use their religion as a way to shield themselves from criticism and to promote harmful values. For example, many Christians use the Bible to justify their misogynistic beliefs about women.

Along with that, Christians also have a tendency to try and force their religion onto others, and, when called out for it, it's not uncommon for other Christians to come to their defence. This only adds fuel to the fire, causing atheists (and even other non-christians) to double down on their hatred for the religion and its followers.

Well being that all Christianity does is make things so much worse for others , of course I hate the religion. All religion to me is a waste of time , for me it's the biggest coping mechanism of them all... just another lie to keep us here and hoping for more.

No, I don't feel better putting others down. I just dislike religion, I don't want to be superior or inferior, I just want people that are religious to keep quiet about it , especially in subjects where it doesn't belong. That's all, I don't go telling people I'm an atheist because it doesn't matter unless they ask me to go to church or pray with them, I tell them plain and simple "hey I don't believe in religion, I don't care about churches nor or religious tradition and I do not want to partake in it, I'm sorry but you'll have to go without me", then they start MALDING at me, okay then?

Someone who would have such concrete beliefs in something wouldn't get mad when others don't share these beliefs. Obviously it's because they themselves hate to see someone not believing "what if they're right and religion is a sham", color me surprised it all comes down to putting others down for your own benefit , who could've guessed?

I mean... There are always religious people trying to gain political power and use it to oppress other religions and atheists who believe something else. Right here in the USA where we supposedly have freedom of religion, there are SERIOUS politicians who say that you do not have the freedom "from" religion, though... so you better pick one... and it had better be Christian!

Meanwhile, I rarely see atheists trying to gain political power so that they can pass laws outlawing religions. Know who does that? Religious people. Christians want to wipe out all faiths but their own... Muslims similar. And I'm speaking generally here, not absolutely... A lot of Christians and Muslims and Jewish and so on get along just fine with each other and with Atheists.

Are there atheists who try and disprove God just to stick it to Christians? Sure... But there are WAY many more Christians who want to oppress atheists for not being believers. Check it. Atheism is not. anywhere near a majority in the world. I kind of get sick of Christians in the USA whining about being "oppressed" when there are more of them by far than any other religion or atheist in this country... and it is constantly Christian politicians trying to oppress others through legislation... not the other way around.

I'm fine with anyone believing whatever they want... and I enjoy having philosophical debates with anyone who is sincere in their beliefs, doesn't try to convert me and get mad when I don't, and wants to have honest conversation.

Are they insulting them personally or, their beliefs? Maybe they're insulting them for believing.

I think it's important to at least consider the motives behind religion. Are they truly the word of God or, are they dressed up to be that, when they are equally likely to be the words of the controlling classes? We should all be aware of how we are being manipulated. Plus- speak out against it, if it's unreasonable.

That really should be possible without insulting someone though. Ultimately, we don't know the truth about God etc. so- no one really has the right to insist that another person is wrong. I still think it's important to question though.

There are a lot of people who hate for various reasons. The sad fact is that hate will always be louder and seen more readily. That being said I dislike any religion that uses their belief structure to impose their will on non-believers.

If you want to get technical, by Christian standards, free will is a God given right. We were given the ability to make choices for ourself. To distort scripture and strip others of their free will, in the name of the Lord, is absolutely intolerable.

The United States uses Christianity to control the population. They manipulate morality and have stripped away the rights of non-believers.

One of the biggest issues being reproductive rights. Another important one being the right to die.

Feel free to believe what you want but you don't get to dictate what I do, with my life, as long as I am not hurting others.
