Help Where is the search function?

Hello-
I'm new to this site and am very confused about the so-called search function in the Rules & Info post. Where is it? Do I need to click on something or get to some landing page at each forum to access a field in which I can enter search terms to look for posts/comments containing the searched terms?

I believe that some functions are only available after a certain period of time or the number of actions that the user performs, but I can notice that when starting a topic I can see if there is another similar one, so I am using this function as a research tool to get some answers.
