Why "night night"? I found out you say to children "night night" instead of "good night". Still no clue about the method name. Tried to search, but nothing appears.

I guess it's because you gently drift off to sleep.. only difference is you don't wake back up.

I thought it was cuz of the sleeper choke hold being the same sensation and/or you can do it laying in bed, you're dead asleep

A lot of people think that death is like sleep. A popular euphemism for dying is going to sleep or eternal rest.

Probably because death is like an eternal sleep and "night night" implies that you're going to sleep/blacking out. You'll be out like a light
