I've read two different guides on here saying different things, one says it needs to be at least 98% purity one says at least 95%. Which is right?

Both Stan's Guide and Vizzy SN Bible mention >95%. I believe the SN Megathread's first post in 2018 stated that 98% figure, but has been updated and confirmed in the past 6 years that 95% or higher is what is needed. Not sure where else 98% is mentioned but I can see why it would definitely be confusing!

SN Grades:

There are different types of SN grades available

99.999% trace metals basis

ReagentPlus®, ≥99.0%

ACS reagent, ≥97.0%

anhydrous, Redi-Dri™, ReagentPlus®, ≥99.0%

anhydrous, free-flowing, Redi-Dri™, ACS reagent, ≥97%

It doesn't matter which one you choose just make sure the SN purity is greater than (>) than 95% for ctb

and

Food grade versus Laboratory Grade

Depending on availability, both food grade and laboratory grade are acceptable as long as the purity is > 95% (this info is usually found in the product description or on label).

I hope you find everything you are looking for and get peace & serenity.
