Heya! I'm a big fan of horror movies and stuff like that, so I figured it'd be interesting to see what other kind of movies people like! I'm watching through the Hell House LLC films for the umpteenth time. Found Footage Horror that's not overly bloody and gory while still being incredibly spooky. Definite comfort films.

I love horror AND found footage ones too. Admitedly most of those don't ever exploit the potential of the genre and stay very clitche, but the few that do I adore. Just that the camera itself you are watching through is a real object in the fiction and can just flip, or fall, or reveal weird stuff, there's so much that can be done with that and I'm enamored with it, i just love em :3
Also they are weirdly comfy yeah, like if you were rewatching some old friend's nostalgic videos and memories... only in which they were bloody murdered but still
REC series is the best. Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum is a good one I can recommend too if you haven't seen it.

REC is great! I passed by Gonjiam a bunch but never gave it a shot for some reason, I definitely will now! Ever seen Noroi: The Curse? Absolutely bonkers Japanese found footage with a terrifying ending act.

Well, well, well.Horror movies. My most hated genre lol.I'm too squeamish for those. I remember as a kid I used to bravely watch any horror movie available, but then when I had to go and switch on the light in my room in the dark. Yeah, that used to be a bit of an issue🤣🤣

Now as an adult, you would think I'd use Alexa to switch on the room light in advance?Maybe that would make me feel better. Not really 🤣

I'm a bit ashamed about this. Over the years I've actually wanted to watch a few horror movies, but I've been too afraid to since I live alone.

Babadook
The conjuring,etc.

Few more movies i guess, tne list isn't too long. But yeah, I would sure enjoy some of these movies, I think👀

Nope, but I'll watch it now too for sure. Summer is coming, the outside is for sunlight creatures and If I don't land a job (which i doubt), I'm definetly spending my days as is tradition for me, locked up watching weird ass movies one after the other. So please keep recommending I will be slurping them up!

So, The Conjuring is about as close to family-friendly horror you can get. Very few obscenities, very light on the gore, but still very suspenseful and scary! Plus there's like, five-10 of them by this frigging point. :p

I watched Final Destination and was afraid of getting electrocuted by switching on the room light. So yes. Please don't recommend any horror movies😌

Man, Final Destination gave me SO MUCH ANXIETY for SO LONG. e.e I played a scary game when I was a kid, Fatal Frame, and it made me afraid to open doors for like, 3 years. Now I just kinda watch whatever! I love a good action film, or comedy, or both in one like Robocop.

Oh man, V/H/S was good until Viral, then they picked it back up. The Poughkeepsie Tapes I pirated WAY back in the day, when they had issues finding a distributor. Gozu is another weird Japanese film that's kind of horror? Just massively surreal.

Dead Space gave me so many nightmares. This game especially had many chases where you had to outrun the zombie enemies. I remember having nightmares where I was trying to outrun these guys. I burned so many calories😱

Oh yeah that one did suck (Viral) I remember skipping it.

Gozu is directed by Takashi Miike right ?

That man scares me...well the SFX. I still haven't finished Ichi the Killer !

If so I just know it's going to be weird or crazy !

Trying to find any time travel or time-stop movie, I even like the B movies in that genre even though they´re probably objectively shitty I just find them entertaining like I recently saw "The map of tiny perfect things" and a while back "Totally Killer" which was very good imo except for one very VERY bad scene or rather small side plot but the main plot in the movie was very good and interesting.

Btw the best in that genre imo is of course Back to the future trilogy, Groundhog Day and and Hot Tub Time Machine 1 and 2 especially because I am totally obsessed with Rob Corddry´s character Lou Dorchen.

If you enjoy dark comedy along with your horror, then I have a mockumentary for you.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

Takes place in a universe where Jason, Freddy, Chucky, etc. are real.

So many great one liners. I quote that movie more than scripture when I was a churchie.

I watched two horror classics yesterday and the day before. The cabinet of dr caligari (1920), the first horror film ever made, if I'm not mistaken, and nosferatu (1922). Both were amazing; I highly recommend giving them a chance and not letting yourself be intimidated by their age. They're not boring or slow-paced at all.

I watched Ginger Snaps recently and fell in love with it. I then watched the prequel and sequel as well and they were also pretty great.

I watched Lake Mungo, which was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly amazing. I might try re-watching it at some point since I feel like I might like it more after a quick re-watch.

I then watched Beyond the Black Rainbow, which is directed by the same guy who directed Mandy. My feelings on that film are a bit more complicated since I loved its style and atmosphere but I feel like it relies way too heavily on those things to carry it. I feel like it took until around two-thirds into the film for it to start to pick up.

I also watched An American Werewolf in London, which wasn't as good as I hoped it to be. I loved the special effects, but that's about it. I'm surprised by it being so hyped up by others.
