What normal uses do SN have I can use as an excuse when buying it?

Hello, I want to be prepared for any stupid question people can do when buying SN, haven't decided if keep finding in my country or buy online but in any case I want to be prepared

Not unless you have a large meat processing operation.
It is used, in very small quantities, to preserve smoked meats

It is also used for different type of Oak identification. One could easily say they are contemplating whittling or making a chair or something and need a way to ID the type of oak they are using.
