it's the ultimate intimacy, the silent core of life, the world with all its content dissolves, like mist in wind, the language in your brain becomes unbelievable, and it was all a dream.

what's after death scares me. the finality & permanency of suicide in general scare me

the most likely "scientific" reality is just nothingness, loss of consciousness, it's like sleeping when you're not dreaming. that's what i look at it as the most

i wonder what there is after death though. maybe if all the religions are real i'll be in hell, or reincarnated
or there will be a new different form of consciousness, idk. suicide for me is hoping for the scientific result, simply ceasing existence. i just wanna sleep forever man

speaking from experience after a failed attempt via train
mentally my life was concluded and the last few seconds of running have felt like eternal tranquility.
there was no pain and i only felt happiness
i imagine that once you are sure you want to ctb then your mind will be prepared for what's next and bid farewell.

ever since my attempt i still haven't been able to feel alive because my belief in death was final. i can only say that i reincarnated as a different person.

I believe the closest we can get to what happens after death, based somewhat on scientific evidence, are near-death experiences.

1 micro-second after my brain dies it won't be able to create this nightmare of extreme suffering ever again .

i am my brain. it's a brain that can suffer unending constant unbearable pain.

DMT is automatically released from your brain
Some people feel that time stands still or speeds up
You gradually lose your 5 senses
They say you feel an incredible peace but I don't know

I don't know. I've never done it.

But the evidence suggests that after death there is nothing at all. Imagine a very deep sleep, but without any dreams.

Depends on how you go I think. Some deaths will be full of pain and others more like a long deep sleep.

There was a case once where someone having a brain scan died during the procedure. While it was obviously very tragic for him and his family, it must have been very useful for the medical staff to observe.

Apparently, the areas of the brain associated with memory lit up all over the place, lending weight to the theory that maybe we do see our lives flash before us. Not sure I'm all that keen on watching a re-run of my life. Living it was bad enough!

I believe 99% that nothing happens - your awareness just disappears when your brain dies. That's the most straightforward, logical, and least fanciful theory.

But I leave the door open ever so slightly for the small possibility that our consciousness or soul is permanent and continues in some other capacity, in some other dimension, after brain death. I listen to a lot of NDE testimonies on youtube, and I don't think such people are necessarily lying - maybe they did experience something that felt incredibly real and powerful, but I'm more inclined to believe such experiences are the result of massive amounts of DMT being released in the brain when it is preparing for death.

None can answer that. It's all assumption. Only the dead people can tell but ofc we can't communicate with them. None dies and come back. From studying I know when the soul leaves the body it's painful. I don't know what's on the other side and none really knows.

A camera can't really record itself being shot, nor can a human truly know how it feels to die. We can only know the moments leading up to each.

With opioid overdoses, patients I've had generally seem to not really remember. They don't even remember passing out, just remember doing a shot and then waking up.

Heart attacks people usually don't seem to either. They just remember chest pain and feeling all sweaty, and then waking up in a stretcher lol

If you have a peaceful method it can be a non-memory. But if you have a painful method, can be excruciating as you wait for everything to work itself out.

I think it depends on the cause of death. Some die in their sleep, and some in terrible pain

I expect that the boundaries between life and death will become even fuzzier with time. The definition has already changed from heart/lung failure to brain death. And as resuscitation medicine advances, we may be able to bring even those people back, as Sam Parnia (NDE researcher and expert in resuscitation medicine) has written about.
