This is one of the questions that bother me. Hinders my plan. I know this thought is mostly due to growing up religious, even though I'm not now I consider myself agnostic, even atheist in some cases. But being force fed heaven and hell for your whole childhood alters things.

I don't necessarily believe once I end my life I'll awaken in a place that fits the description of a christian hell, I lean more so to nothingness or even have toyed with the idea of reincarnation.

But I just don't know.

I believe we are already in hell, so for me death is just peace. One thing is sure : we'll all know sooner or later what comes after ...

Of course it's hard to unravel religious indoctrination but as far as I can tell....

Humans are just machines running on oxygen and glucose like any other organism on the planet (barring some microbes. Basically anything you can see without a microscope).

That's why the DNA coding for those functions is remarkably conserved across the tree of life.

And broken-down machines have no further role to play.

The development of the intelligence required to have a rich subjective experience and therefore an attachment to it was chance in action. The Universe is not particularly hospitable to a thinking being in many ways.

We get our life and we are supposed to be at peace with its finiteness because out of all the possibilities we were the ones who got to observe and participate in reality, even if just for a little bit.

To demand more would be presumptuous indeed!

You are going to have to experience it sooner or later. If we are talking about eternity, the short span of any life you have left is not going to matter in the long run. Face it now, face it in 50-70 years. The only difference is how much time you spend in this life and whether you can stand the thought of any more suffering here.

We were discussing this on another thread but the church does have compassion for those driven to suicide by mental illness. That it's up to God.
I'm afraid too. I want to escape. I also get angry at times. We weren't asked to be made this way, and in a world with so much pain and suffering. None of this makes any sense.

that's something that really scared the shit out of me, I come from a religious family so taking ones life is considered a sin, although at least for me God forgives everything, he loves you and I truly believe if I do CTB he will understand the pain im going through and would be holding me as I leave this body.

Hamlet's question. Even though I won't feel anything, the concept of FOREVER really blows my mind. I'm choosing to be unconscious for a kajillion years, and that's just the first bazillionth of it.

But guess what! That's gonna happen anyway. Suicide is really just missing out on the rest of my natural life, which sounds great.

When in doubt just remember hell was literally invented by Pope Gregory the great as a ploy to scare people into giving up their lives to the church.

Scripture and church are the deification of literal parental abuse and I wouldn't give much weight to any of that.

Based on nde testimonials it seems death is a state of pretty much absolute bliss and liberation and nearly all who died and came back think this world is shit and regretted surviving.

I believe many of these testimonials are a blend of actual death and hallucinations but the common pattern to all is a state of hyper consciousness, meeting ancestors (known and unknown alike) and extra sensory awareness.

So far it seems the case for continued existence after death is stronger than the opposite and for the likes of it... It's pretty good.

Well then you can ask god why he made you born and made you live if you didn't agree and ask him when he will be judged for creating an evil, pain and such world🤷‍♂️.
