Discussion What happens if you are rescued an hour after ingesting/drinking sodium nitrite?

Like many people who are rescued are rescued in time and don't suffer any negative effects long term but what if an hour after drinking it you are rescued? What kind of long term damages and effects can happen?

I want to know as SN does sound too good to be true If god forbid you are to fail and get saved. Because all other methods if you are to be rescued or saved will lead you to becoming a vegetable or be in a vegetative state which is something I DON'T WANT!!!

I think that if a person gets rescued an hour after, they should be dead already. SN works in a half hour in most cases

I heard it takes around 30 minutes or so for it to actually kill you.
I don't think theres any long term damage if you fail? If there is its probably minor, but definitely NOT vegatative, which is why I believe this method is so popular.
