In the beginning I actually got messages and replies to my posts but now it feels like I'm just talking to a wall. I used to feel heard and understood but now it feels totally different. I have no idea why it suddenly changed. Is there something wrong with me and my posts maybe? I just want to talk to people who go through similar things but now I even feel lonely here.

A lot of people here don't have the mental energy to respond that much. It's not really anyone's fault.

The turnover % rate of this site is naturally high so its normal to many people just disappear (mainly people quit attempt/ trying recovery or just get bored).

I don't think it's anything personal; traffic ebbs and flows like any place—as mentioned above, so does mental energy of "regulars" and longer-term members. I've posted plenty of vent posts in time and never got much, if any, in the way of replies. While it sucks, it's only natural for a place like this. You can really only give the same platitudes so many times, and advice isn't always warranted.
I'd guess that there just isn't much for one to say, or the right eyes aren't finding the post(s).

Also, reactions are still a form of engagement when words are short—that is a large part of how people here empathize, especially with consideration to the reasons above.

Depends on the person. If there are situations about cancer, autism, finances, family then those things are relatable so it can be discussed. When it's other topics it's basically impossible - I don't know about sh, eating disorder (me not eating or drinking water becuase of depression isn't the same). But I do understand the struggle I just can't put it into text/reply. We are all screwed regardless.

The chat button is in the upper right portion of the screen - the 2 chat "bubbles", immediately to the left of the search magnifying glass icon.

I just gave a similar reply on a person who felt "lonely" on here and I swear I didn't read yours first😄

I don't think you're the problem at all. I can't speak for everyone but I barely reply to anything anymore. I spend most of my time isolated in my own brain fog bubble trying to figure out the best way to die.

I'm sorry you haven't gotten a lot of support on here. I noticed it was different when I was new too, but one factor could be the flood of new members this past year. More members means more threads. If I had the energy to reply to every single one in a constructive way, I probably wouldn't be on a suicide forum. :ahhha:

This website is like reddit but for suicidal people. I doubt you can get genuine responses there as well.

Just like the people above wrote.

I would like to add that I don't necessarily want to respond to the same topics over and over again.
I would have to copy my comments.
This is tedious and burdensome.

Another thing is that very often I have no knowledge about something.
I only answer when I have at least minimal knowledge.
Of course, even this minimal knowledge may be wrong.

The main problem is not you.

People come and people go, the only thing that remains is the pain.

Many visitors don't have accounts so they don't post or reply. Those with accounts are dealing with trauma of their own. There are so many new posts that they can easily get buried very quickly. If you don't get responses to your posts, just re-post them again at a different time. Some of us are up all night on the site while others can only stop by periodically.

Sorry you're in so much pain. Be well on your journey.

Most people here are to find a way to escape life so long term friends are unlikely.

Its not you or your posts, it's just that people here are not generally going to be in good mental health.

Making friends and engaging with people takes a lot of emotional energy.

Tbf I use this site more for researching about SN than engaging with people. I am starting to vent here a little more, but mostly I went on reddit since it's UI is nice and simple

Posts don't tend to stay near the top of the page for long, so they're soon buried by newer ones and slip from view. Also, it's not easy to know what to say to someone who's depressed and suicidal when that's your own condition.
If we had answers we'd probably not be here ourselves.

Dude, you've started three threads in the last couple of days that have all gotten replies, but after the first post you haven't engaged with any of the discussion. Start there: interact with the people who are replying to you.

My apologies to everyone I upset with this thread. I was really in my feelings when I wrote this and I felt really lonely so I started to self doubt. I totally understand that it's hard for people like us to even reply to a message. I struggle with that as well. I don't want to sound insensitive at all.

For me, I'm really bad at giving good advice to people. I worry that whatever advice I might give will only worsen the situation of those in struggle, so while I do read a ton of the threads on here, I don't reply to them.
