For those who have attempted suicide by ODing what did it feel like? What pills did you use? I know this is a non-method. Just asking out of curiosity about pain level and such.

I od'd paracetamol and it was miserable. Obviously didn't die. but was violently throwing up, non stop and struggled to get a breath at times. I was so tired I would try to lie down but as soon as I did, I had to get up and throw up again. Ended up with my head in a bucket for the whole night, and after a while there was nothing even left to throw up, but my body just kept going through the motions of throwing up anyway and it was painful, tasted foul and exhausting, spent the night in the hospital and got let home the next day. This was a few years ago.

This ^ Plus, after I managed to sleep I woke up feeling like I had been in a coma, I assumed days had passed when in reality it was a couple of hours - if that. I remember taking puffs out of a joint but apparently I smoked three all by myself and my ex didn't stop me and the girl, her friend she had just met, had laced them with liquid cocaine. Sooo yeeaah. (Sorry I didn't read the first message) To give a better answer, the same ex tried to od on pills and wine, couldn't tell you what she was taking at the time, I don't remember; But same thing, lots of vomiting and she was hospitalised overnight and yeah, not good.

OD'd on opioids and benzos the amount of which should have killed me. My body fought back though. I sleptwalked in the middle of the night to the freezer and subconsciously consumed a bunch of mint ice cream. The mint gave me massive diarrhea. I came to lying on the floor in my own mess covered in bruises. I went in and out of consciousness the next few days and don't remember much.

I lived alone so there was no one checking on me. I didn't go to the hospital.

Any method that gives the body time to fight back is unreliable.

This was 6 months ago. I have issues with my memory and digestive system but I'm not sure if its all caused by my attempt.
I am broke and can't get Healthcare so its hard to tell.

No I don't think so, nothing that effects my day to day life anyway. But I know it can cause liver damage, as well as potential kidney damage, if not treated properly in hospital. Unsure if it's related but I do notice since then, that if I drink too much alcohol I get very similar symptoms so potentially there is some left over damage but nothing severe.

And no I'm not Italian

Fun topic...
I've oded on antidepressants, sleeping pills, antipsychotics ,dph, dxm, cocaine, and heroin.
Technically I oded on thc but it was only so bad because of the amount and how much alcohol I had consumed with it.

For me when I od its either I'm not breathing at all , I'm unconscious, I'm having back to back seizures or I'm puking my guts out.

The ones that hurt the most are the seizure odes because you're so confused and scared because your brain literally feels like it's being fried.

Recently ODed on a bunch of meds (anxiolytics, codeine, paracetamol, lamotrigine… + antiemetics to keep it all down)
I had A LOT of anxiolytics, which put me in DEEP sleep
What really worked, overdose-wise, though was the paracetamol. Only threw in ~16g last minute, but just that fucked up my liver pretty bad
Woke up in the ICU 3 days later, stayed there for a week. Went into acute liver failure + grade 3 hepatic encephalopathy, which got me put onto the liver transplant waiting list
Unfortunately my liver recovered by itself and I didn't die
The weird thing is I don't remember feeling ANY pain at ANY point, but I'm thinking that's either because (1) I was so out of it the whole time I was in the ICU, or/and (2) they might have given me painkillers intravenously in the ICU? I'm not sure which tbh

I know paracetamol OD isn't a recommended method as the fatality rate is so low, but honestly, given how bad just 16g of paracetamol fucked my liver up, I'm considering giving it anoter shot, only with 4 times the amount, which would amount to 1g/kg of body weight
(I'd like to add that the amount of codeine in the mix was so low I don't think it had much of an influence—I unfortunately didn't have much left in stock…)

Like others, I OD'd on a combination of opioids, benzos, anti-psychotics, and tranquilisers. My body couldn't even puke any of it out. I didn't black out or anything. I didn't get any medical help for this because the person I was living with had no idea going to a real hospital was even an option??? and it made me feel like absolute shit. I was taken to a psych ward I was familiar with instead, but they rejected me because my insurance didn't cover it and I was accused of "doing it for attention" (despite it being in the privacy of my own home and I told no one I was doing it). Just stupid. So I was taken home and had to sit with all this shit in my system for over a week waiting for my body to flush it out. Most miserable experience in my life.

And of course I tried it again a year later. I don't know why I keep trying when it doesn't do anything. I guess it's the familiarity of it all.

I've mixed a combo of meds later that I'm positive would've killed me if I took more because the interaction these meds had made me experience a "panic attack" (I don't know what it was) that felt like I was gonna die. Like my soul leaving my body. It was violent and scary. My body is stupidly resilient though.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten some form of brain issues doing all this. I would never recommend it. Ever.

One night in Bangkok many years ago. Accidental OD on high quality product. I was not ready to go so I had to keep reminding myself to breath a few times a minute. That was not so much fun. Narcotics can kill you and you wont even know it, it's very easy to slip out.

im considering ODing on opioids as a backup if SN doesn't work or I can't seem to get any. I wanted to ask, who called for you to go to the ICU and are you by any chance in the US? Asking for my own planning. Sorry if it sounds hella sketchy lol, theres just nowhere to ask this kinda stuff.

OD on benadry: holy mother of auditory hallucinations. It was like being drunk with anxiety and hearing shit.

Tylenol 6gm per day over two days (12gm total): the worst stomach flu with heart palpations for a few days and dark urine for a month due to liver damage.

Quetiapine, cyclobenzaprine, and primidone mixed up vodka: I was out for four hours. Couldn't walk and could barely talk. Calling 911 took several tries due to inability to type those three numbers. I remember telling them I needed an ambulance and crawled to the living room. I remember hearing "hang on" and "stay with me" from the paramedics. Then anxiety feelings that lasted for days.
