What are the things a person should try first?

I'm not looking to gatekeet suicide. It's a personal choice for everyone. But for those who are further along your journey and have tried to achieve a good life, what steps did you take?

I'm pretty sure suicide is my best bet for living my best life (and by that I mean not) but once I do it I've forfeited all chances I can find a good life.
