I really don't know what to make of this. "Small world" I guess.

I don't want to deanonymize myself but the details matter. I just found out some facts about someone important, maybe even "famous" in a particular research community. He's both a scholar who has published influential research and founded a company, and maybe one of the smartest people in the world. Probably most people have either heard of his company, or heard of related companies that use his research.

I've never met the guy but it's easy to read about his accomplishments. But the weirdest part us I found out that he married my high school girlfriend. I haven't talked to her in decades (I'm long long past high school and don't keep in touch) but it's just weird to think about.

Somehow I have tenuous connections to people who are important, even though I'm a nobody who thinks about CTB often.

Yeah, you would be surprised how nearly some people are connected. Look up "seven degrees of separation."
