Good evening, everyone. I'm opening this important thread to discuss the consequences, if any, of taking one's own life. According to the three Abrahamic religions, Judaism says that there is no hell, although suicide is considered a sin. In Christianity, I would swear that all branches, except Jehovah's Witnesses, say it is a sin and there is a possibility of going to hell. Islam categorically states that a person who commits ctb goes to hell. What do you think about this? When they talk about astral planes, they say that suicides go to a lower astral plane. There may be people who believe this is the end of existence. It may also be that God does not exist for some. It may be that God exists but is not the one described by religions.
I'm do not want to cause ourselves more torment, but to intuit what you believe happens. In near-death experiences, I researched people who attempted ctb, and no cases of negative experiences were reported. This is very interesting. As I said, I don't want to make an apology for ctb because I have no idea what happens. Now, I'll give you my opinion: I believe there is a mess in which the laws of God are not clear. If God exists, we who are so insignificant as humans, so extremely insignificant, God is love and should forgive. We are in a situation of total despair—illnesses, family problems, mental issues ...etc

So this is what has kept me from CTBing: I am afraid of reincarnation. I believe reincarnation to be 100% true. I am afraid that if I take my life right now, I will have to come back and repeat it (or something similar) because I have not learned all the lessons I was meant to learn. I don't know about you but I do not want to repeat my life.
I don't believe in hell (as in a "very warm place") that Christianity and Islam talk about. I think that we have to keep reincarnating until we "get it right" whether it's reincarnating in this world or other worlds.
Yes, I believe an almighty deity (God?) exists and is forgiving but we still have lessons to learn in order to spiritually evolve. It is impossible to do that in one lifetime. Some people report being "tired" and the feeling of having done this before many times. They might be old souls. Suicide is cutting short the opportunity to learn certain lessons. Maybe if we do CTB, the next life might get a little easier since there are some lessons we already learned? I don't know... but I'd rather wait till I am immensely suffering before I take my life. I am fairly certain that in this lifetime, I will die by my hand and I will deal with the consequences of that when I die.

I am 100% in agreement with you, to continue with the brutal contradictions. According to a Jew, Christians are committing the gravest sin there is, which is believing in the Trinity or praying to crosses. Muslims also think the same about Christians. According to Muslims, both Christians and Jews will go to hell for not believing in their prophet. In the end, who is right? It's all contradictions. I understand many people; it's very important to know what might happen. Because we already have torment in life without adding that someone tells us that we will suffer or that future generations will suffer. Its ridicolous

Good evening. Years ago, I would have thought like you. But let me tell you something. If you see a car, you know that it was made by a human. The universe obviously has a creator intelligence behind it. Many of the smartest people in the world believe in God and affirm how important it is not to distance oneself from Him. So, if someone says they are going to hell, that is what they will attract. Imagine if our life here has been hell. Imagine eternal torture. At the very least, we should say that we will go to heaven and that it will go well for us and that God will forgive us. But it's not good to attract dark energies. Everything that is happening to us, this misery, are nothing but dark and negative energies .

Some of the smartest people I have ever known in my life are also some of the dumbest. None of us know everything about everything -- just because someone is smart about physics doesn't mean they know any more than I do about any "Almighty". In fact, none of us KNOW -- we know OUR OPINION based on things we have been taught, things we've seen and heard, and things we have read. That is it. NONE of knows what waits for us on the other side -- IF there even IS another "side". And for the record, I do believe their are forces at work we do not understand. Beyond that, I can only state what might be my understanding but that may be hell and gone from what someone else's understanding of God(s)-ess(es), spirits, etc.

And finally, it is not my place to say for anyone but myself how the belief (or lack thereof) of ANYTHING (and conversely, nothing) at all will affect their existence going forward after death. I can hope with all my heart we all find the peace we so desperately crave. But I don't KNOW anymore than anyone else does -- and anyone who says they DO is lying to themselves because until we get "there" (if there IS a "there") nobody knows but those who have gone on before us.

i never seen any evidence that there are a creator but if there are an creator that created all the suffering and evil in the world then i will not worship the creator i will hate the creator with all my heart.

All judeo-christian religions in my opinion are nonsensical. They base themselves on human morals and I personally would not believe in a god that punished gay people or suicidal people. I have no worries regarding it. Look at the philosophy of determinism, thats my main cause for why putting human morals (used to control people, both for good and bad), based on one planet in an endless universe is just...nonsensical, a god isnt gonna think like us. Until about the 4th century, christianity did not consider suicide to be a sin. Then they changed their mind. They just make this stuff up as they go along, and say whatever they want to say. Why do you care about religious nonsense?

People should be more afraid of Eternal Recurrence where we are doomed to live this exact same life over and over again indefinitely. That in and of itself is a hell that forces you to deal with the exact thing you tried to run away from in the first place, forever. You will never escape the cycle, you will always be back whether you live or die. So you might as well take what you got now, and make it something worthwhile, because you're going to back kid.

this compares near death experiences of all people from all religions. all speak of a new found hightened wisdom and contentment unexplainable on earth. I reccomemnd as they did scientific studies on the matter very informative.

People indirectly commit suicide by smoking or eating like shit. Are they going to hell to? The Abrahamic religions are just offshoots of the same bullshit story. Even the religions themselves have dozens of offshoots within the religion, Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, etc etc. They can't even get the story straight within their own damn traditions.

A lot of people misinterpret the meaning of Thou Shall Not Kill. It refers to UNLAWFUL murder.

If you had a pet that you loved dying, would you let it suffer or put it out of it's misery?
If you have thought heavily about this and come to the conclusion that your choice is necessary then I believe it will be forgiven. In my case I've failed my children and I deserve death. So to me, it would be lawful to CTB for being a shit person.

I prefer to focus on evidence and facts.

There is no evidence that heaven, hell, reincarnation or whatever else exists, so I will not blindly believe in that. I'm not saying they don't exist, but I will not blindly believe in that.

Maybe I'm delusional but I feel like I'm promised a better life after I die, that I'll get the chance to live the life that I really wanted or at least a life privileged enough.
I truly believe this and I need to die young in order to achieve it, but I put the delusional part because I've been on anti psychotic so idk what's real and what's fake anymore, if ppl can believe in religions them nothing's stopping me from believing that I'm promised a good life after death
