Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hello, I had a question. Why exactly was this site banned for UK users? I'm not a Brit, so I wouldn't know exactly what the social stigmas are on that little island over there, I just wanted to know why specifically. And what other countries are banned? (Barring the ones that just ban the entire internet)

We Brits are just very stingy and uptight. If you commit suicide and your internet history is investigated, then maybe might increase the chance of a country blocking the site... but not so much if you're not getting SN from someone on the forum or whatever

Woah... So... If I go, would I get my country blacklisted? That's kind of a fear, every death makes it harder for future generations to follow.
There's no guarantee it would have any effect.

Hundreds, likely thousands of SaSu users over the years have died without them being connected to the forum and their countries' governments getting involved. If their deaths are connected to SaSu, some countries won't care, some won't have the resources to investigate, some won't have laws in place that allow blocking like that.

The best course of action is to make sure your death is not connected to SaSu--delete your browser history, etc. etc. when preparing to CTB.

SS blocking access from the UK was just them getting ahead of the curve re: the Online Safety Act which goes back to 2021, before the site had any major heat even. I have my own opinions on the site's overall policies but Ofcom is really just trying to manifest 1984. Information is the most valuable currency and in the current day and age, digital info is pure gold. There's a reason a nefarious american tech firm tendered its services for a year to the NHS during the worst of the COVID days for 1$ (spoiler: it isn't kindness).
