The time between Christmas and the New Year is brutal.
The fake joy is over, the year isn't quite done yet, and everything you've been avoiding shows up at once.
Depression hits hard here.
Loneliness gets louder.
The pressure to "be grateful" feels insulting.
Nothing changed just because Christmas passed.
People struggle and die during this time not because they're weak, but because this stretch exposes how bad things really are... the bad in your life is exposed.
If you feel empty, numb, angry, or exhausted right now, that makes sense.
This time of year is isolating and heavy.
Not everyone is hopeful.
Not everyone is okay.
And pretending otherwise just makes it worse.

I hope this time ends me .

I find New Year so cruel, it's as you said- depressing and lonely.

I honestly don't even understand how people can enjoy that day, not to mention the fireworks- They're pretty and nice but the screeching sound and amount of people gathering to set them off just makes me more depressed..

The time goes so fast, I don't even know how to enjoy anything. (*T^T)

couldn't have phrased these sentiments more aptly; this is such a true and primal horror of this time of year. all the fuckery of the world is thrown in our faces and we're meant to remain giddy.

I absolutely love New Year's. I party hard...then I crash and contemplate suicide after midnight. Wondering how the hell I'm still alive.

That's so true. I've long felt uncomfortable this time of year. I think partly because I don't like Christmas or New Year and so, it's like the limbo period between two bad events.

For me, the time frame you mentioned is from Thanksgiving to the day after New Year's Day.
